New HDD in lappy...

Hi Everyone 🙂.

I'm putting a new 320gb 7200 WD Black in my laptop. It currently has a 160gb WD. Can I use Seagate Tools, or something else to do this for free?

Are the power/sata connectors the same as a desktop drive? Can I just hang both (2.5's) off my tower, or do I need to buy a usb case and hang the new drive off my lappy?

I use ghost, but there are a few free versions of similar software out there.

I use a desktop PC to migrate. Hook both drive in which if they are SATA they plug right in. If they are IDE, you need the appropriate desktop to laptop IDE adapters.

Thanks Gil 🙂...thats the info I needed. Glad I can plug 'em straight into a desktop rig.
I think I can use the Seagate Disk Wizard since they are WD drives.
