New HD Radio

My Dad wants a new HD radio for xmas. I went to hdradio.com to look at whats out there but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to which one to pick or to look for?

I have the Sony XDRF-HD1 and it's a remarkable tuner in almost every way. The only thing I can think of as negatives are it's boot up time (a few seconds), it can run a little hot, and it will lose saved channels on power loss.

The output quality is unrivaled though. It has absolutely zero stereo hiss, even on standard FM channels. As well as zero drifting.

I would be nice if it was in a full length chassis though.. just to fit better in a rack. It's tiny, maybe 9" wide.

Sounds good to me I will be investing into one of these. With the heat issue it should be ok in an open well ventilated area correct?

It's really not that hot, but it does get warm around the rear vent when it's in use. The buttons are on the top, along the front of the unit, so you basically have to have space above it anyway.

Amazon Warehouse has a good deal on it currently, but I think it's a refurb.
