New HD not recognized...kinda

OK. My BIOS recognizes it ~ set up correctly (I have an 80g and a 120g).

I checked the connections and it is what I wanted: 80g - master, 120g slave.

In My Computer - Properties - Hardware, it recognizes it (Shows under Disk Drives the 2 HDs)

But, when I look under My Computer (just regularly, not under properties) it only shows 1 drive (my original 80g as a C: drive).

What gives?

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management
Under the Storage part of the tool, pick Disk Management
The new drive should show up there. Does it have a partition? If not, you'll need to create one and format it.

In the control panel, go to Administrative Tools (assuming it's windows XP) and then look in Computer Management. Look in the Disk Management section, what's listed there?

What OS is it?

OK i am running win xp home.

Under disk management, I have disk 0 -my 80g.
Under disk 1 - I have an unallocated disk.

I am assuming that I have not formated it. What should I do to do this? Never formated a 2nd hard drive before, only when I have done a fresh instal of windows.

Click on the disk, and format it (might be a right click menu option).
Use NTFS and 4kb clusters.

I have Win2k so I'm not 100% sure if XP will be the same, I guess it will.
