new HD for Compaq Armada?

I'm supposed to fix this Compaq Armada laptop for my boss's nanny, and it needs a new HD, but the specs on compaq/hp's website are vauge at best. It says "20gig SMART drive" or something like that. I want to make sure I get the correct (physical) size drive, but I'm not sure what the correct size is.

Can anyone let me know, or point me at the info I'm looking for?

What is the model of the Armada. Most laptops use either 9 or 12 in drives, most accomodate both.

it's the M700 i think. unfortunately, i don't have it with me. it has the 20gig drive.

i want to order the thing this week, but i want to be sure i get the correct size.
