I just got a new WD HD and started by checking it for errors.
The strange thing from the start was that it appeared that the HD had some "bad" partitions on boot.
When I got in windows, disk management showed the disk as "foreign" and after "importing" it the disk is dynamic not basic. This one is a backup HD and I don't want to think that I got a used one and they didn't even low level format it, just deleted the partitions.

something like active undelete or some other partition recovery software.. check the label.. is it oem label or a "white" label.. sound like you got either a refurb or black market product..

I got my own anti-static sealer so... u can't trust those..

Oh, and another thing: the model number is WD160JS-22MHB0, but it has 3 more numbers, like CT, P/N1 and GPN and they all look like xxxxx-xxx (instead of digits).
