new HD and PHOENIX BIOS

installed a 20G HD and the BIOS settings stated below on PC about 5yr old, compaq
did the BIOS Auto detect this correctly or do I need to change some things?


type: auto able to change
Cylinders: 17475 is this correct? maxtors site says it should not be set to more than 16383
heads: 15
max capacity: 20491MB

multi sec transfer: 16 sectors
LBA: enabled
32 bit I/O: disabled able to change
transfer mode: fast PIO 4
ultra DMA : mode 2


under ADVANCED options are these:

PNP OS: yes
reset config: no
USB legacy support: disabled
>PCI configuration
>I/O device configuration
Large disk access mode: DOS
local bus IDE adapter: both
>audio options menu
>advanced chipset control: enable memory gap: disabled

THANKS Bacillus, so as long as the bios auto detects the cylinders at 17475, and it was not manually entered its ok?


now I can get started on formatting and ghost to get this POS back together.:Q
