Have been searching your forum for help but am "fading" and need help and sleep!!
I have done very little with hardware, but my desktop hard drive has completely failed and I want to try and do this myself. Logically, if all goes well and i use same type of hard drive......ULTRA ATA 133, take old one out, put new one back in exact same way.....would i just put my XP PRO OS disk in and turn it on??? to format?

Like I said, have never done this before, mostly just added hard drives, cards, small stuff.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Boot from the XP disk, format drive, install OS. You might have to go into the BIOS and tell it to boot from the CD drive. Probably need to press delete (or maybe some other key) when it's first loading up.
