Getting VPU recovery errors hour or two after installing it while playing Starcraf 2.

VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator or it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands"

I had gpuz and had the log going, found that the highest temp the card got was to was 61c which isn't very hot. After existing the game I noticed that windows I move around don't seem as responsive.

Is there anyone that had a similiar issues with sc2 and an ATI card? I'm thinking it could very well be the card is bad out of the box but maybe there a known issue with sc2 and you just have to change a setting?

I have a Green 700 PSU from Sparkle Power, I didn't have these issues with my previous card the 550 ti super clocked.

Hmm, honestly if that is your advise I think the card needs to go back.

I properly already removed the drivers before I installed the card, it is definitely seated properly and I downloaded and installed the newest drivers from ATI without issue.

What would be your advice if it didn't crash in other games? I think if I could increase the voltage to the card that might help but I downloaded MSI afterburner and the voltage slider is disabled even after unlocked it in the settings. I guess there is no way to increase the voltage to the card in my BIOS?

I can't believe after so many driver changes since SC2 was released they could still be having issues with their driver working properly, makes me want to stay away from ATI in the future.

It's something that can happen to any card. I wouldn't sweat it if the suggestion solves the problem.

FWIW my wife gets that ocassionally on her 560ti 448. It's not bothersome enough to fix it because it is so infrequent and doesn't last very long. My guess is her card overheats or maybe a particular setting should be turned down.

IF it doesn't crash in other games then you need updated drivers for sc2.

I have the newest drivers, are there specific drivers for sc2?

This is a constant thing, every time I play sc2 this happens and it is a big deal as I only care about the multi player part of the game.

I actually ordered a GTX 660 and I'm going to return this card. I'm not going to deal with an unreliable card.
