:eek:is it wrong that I like the smell if new computer equipment? Mostly motherboards or a brand new machine after you open it up from the factory... Oh, and when you open a $25,000 server...

No, the fine particulates incinerated during the initial power-on cycles have an effect similar to huffing paint. You're a junkie.

Smells even better when your PSU fries and takes all the hardware attached to it along for the ride.

Nothing quite like the sound of blowing every capacitor in your PSU either.

When you first get into something it's weird, but yeah, I like the new hardware smell. Wasn't there a thread about smells/memories the other day? I was in Home Depot yesterday and was walking through the wood section and got all these memories of working with my dad in his shop when I was a kid. It's a very home-y, familiar, comforting thing. Weird eh :)

My friend Anthony loves the smell of fresh blanks too.

I personally like the smell of a fresh bottle Sassafras oil.

Yes, I love this smell. I also love the smell of fire. That scent that clings to you for hours after tending a good bonfire or sending something flying into a trillion black powder-assisted pieces.

I like maple syrup. I think it depends on the brand...ritek g04s definitely have a little maple going on.
