So Ill be getting a used hardrive tommorrow...Might have an OS installed on it...

So how do I connect it? I have two IDE slots, I occupied by my CDRW and Hardrive. How do I install the new hardrive, make sure my PC doesnt boot through it and the format it thouroughly?

So, 2 IDE cables 1 has a harddrive as master (or single) and CDRW as master on the other?

In BIOS, you should be able to select which device to boot to. If it's working now, you shouldn't have to change anything there and it should continue to boot normally to primary IDE master (which it's probably doing now).

If your cable that has the harddrive connected to it now has 2 connectors on it, set your current OS drive to master with the jumpers and add in your new drive as slave.

Boot up as normal. If it doesn't boot to your OS like normal, restart and do into BIOS and select the primary HDD on the first IDE channel to boot to first.

Once you get into windows you should be able to go to "My Computer" and format the drive to your liking.
