New harddisk lost space after format ?

I just format a 40G partition in win2k using NTFS in a 80G hd
after formated, it show 65.6MB is used ?

is it due to its default cluster size ?

Look in the "system volume information" directory..... windows uses some space to keep track of the drive.

ur lucky, my 40gb drive is missing about 7gbs, formatted NTFS blah blah blah
