I'm in the market for a second hard drive any 1+ GB that can be recommended? I'd like it be be around $100 and I'd like it to be fast. How are the WD Black Drives or Hitatachi desk star drives?
 
I would go with WDC Blacks over Deskstars. I think you mean 1 TB, not GB? Assume you also mean SATA interface?
 
I looked for the TB Western Digitals when I did my own build here and couldn't find them at the time I needed 'em. I got the Samsung F series 1TB drive instead and this computer rocks! Even now, over a year later it's the best computer I've ever put together.
 
Yeah I meant TB and yes SATA, I was thinking abount a 2TB green drive but a) I know the slower speed will bother me (even if you can't notice it) b) all the 2TB drives seem to get a bunch of bad reviews from new egg. So now I'm thinking a compromise 1-1.5TB 7200 with decent performance.
