I've been thinking of upgrading to XP, and buying a new hard drive. Is there anywhere or anyone who sells these hd's with thos os already installed and tested?
Thanks
No. The hd is only one part of the whole system. Windows loads drivers and and configures setup variables according to the hardware it detects on installation. There is no way to predict what hardware the drive will be installed with.
In general, the OS should be installed on the system it's going to run on. Installing XP on a fresh drive is not difficult at all. You should be able to do it yourself without much trouble.
