New hard drive reading smaller?

I just got a new 120GB hard drive to replace an 80gb drive of mine. I installed it, but it comes up as only being 111GB. Is this normal?
 
A relevant answer from Western Digital. And a very helpful chart. I'd bet the information could be had at the other hard drive manufacturer's web sites as well.
