New Hard Drive problem

Hi,

I just bought a:

Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 10 NCQ 300GB 6V300F0 SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD-089-MD)

Problem is it wont install, my computer detects it in the BIOS and in Windows, but when i go to initialise it, it will not work.
My motherboard is a DFI Lanparty nF3 250Gb if that helps
 
By initialise I mean going to:

Administer tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management. Then once in there I right click the drive and try to install it and an unexpected error occurs whilst its trying to installl it.

I'm not sure where the "Windows Drive Manager" your referring to is?
