How can I get explorer to recognize my new second drive?

Did you partition the HD?

Right click on My Computers and click on "Manage". Under the storage menu, you should see disk management where you can partition and format the drive. I'm assuming that your drive was already detected by the BIOS.

install it......hehe...make sure your jumpers are set properly (master/slave) and plug it on the end connector. Should be set.
