new hard drive help

i need a new hard drive. i currently have an old maxtor 80 gig as my main drive and it needs to go. i cant decide which hard drive to get however. i do a lot of gaming and a good deal of multitasking. i have another 200 gig drive for storage. should i get another seagate 200 gig and partition it, or should i get a raptor. i am in need of more hard drive space but i cant decide if the 200 gig partitioned would slow down any while accessing the drive.

in short, which should i get
western digital 36.7 gig raptor
seagate 200 gig
both are sata.

Egads, get the Seagate. Raptors are very overpriced and the speed increase just isn't worth it IMO. And for the a little more money, you get more than 5x the storage. Pretty easy decision for me at least 😛

seagate hands down.

Raptors are hardly worth the money they cost and the small size of the one you picked out makes it almost useless.

Go for the 200GB one

You'd be surprised how fast the 200GB one is just from the density of information on each platter. Seek times will be slower but full read/write times will be pretty close.
