New Hard Drive = Faster?

I just bought a 250GB Western Digital Hard Drive, and I was wondering if it would be any faster (to any significance) than my 100GB WD? Both are the 8mb cache versions.

Well does it have the same amount of cache. Also i believe the 100GB is all one platter and the 200Gb is 2 platters.

You wont notice a difference but theoretically the 200gig should be <1% faster.

Even if it is sata, you probably won't be able to see any performance. Most performance gains are too small to actually notice.

I don't think you can feel a diference.

I on the other hand I'm moving from a 2MB Buffer 80GB Maxtor to Raptor II 74GB, and the 300GB, 16MB buffer Maxtor so I'm hoping to see some real diferences.
