New Hard drive configuration -- adding several drives

I am currently rebuilding/”upgrading” my current system and I am planning to reinstall XP (32) to take advantage of the X2 CPU. I have a couple more drives to put in the system as well. The system will be used primarily for Autocad and testing out Revit. I know the system seems under powered but I am really not doing anything high end. Does my “new” hard drive configuration make sense?

Asrock 939 Dual Sata2
3 gigs ddr 400 -- XP only sees 2.5 gigs
Sata I x 2
Sata II x1
IDE 2x2

Current

Athlon 64 3200+
Sata I – Raid 0, 2x160 gig Hitachi 7200rpm
IDE – 200 gig Maxtor -- Storage

Upgraded

Athlon 64 x2 3800+ (will overclock)

Seagate 320 gb 7200 rpm 16meg cache Sata II
C: OS 160 gigs
D : Programs 160 gigs

Hitachi 160 gig 7200rpm 8 meg cache Sata I
E: CAD files, Revit Files

Hitachi 160 gig 7200rpm 8 meg cache Sata I
F: Media – mp3, movies . . .

Maxtor 200 gig 7200rpm 8 meg cache IDE
G: Storage

Maxtor 180 gig IDE
Usually not installed in the system, maybe used to image OS?

External
1TB Simpletech USB – WD 16meg cache Sata II 5400 rpm
150 gig USB – Maxtor IDE

I am thinking that the WD drive will be faster than the 4.5 year old Hitachi Raid set up. Also, I can reinstall XP and my programs and make sure it works before taking down the Raid.

Now, if I could get XP to see more than 2.5 gigs out of 3 gigs. Any thoughts/ comments would be appreciated.
