New Half-Life and CS updates....where?

Geez...these things were just released today at noon...and every damn freakin server is so clogged up...does anyone know where i could download these things a wee bit faster?

Humm I have half life and CS. I dont play Halflife, but do I have to install the half life patch because CS uses the engine? Or do I just need the CS patch.


And this is totally wrong forum. But its 2 am so I dont care.

I just hit cancel when it told me I had to and apperently when I connected to the server, I downlodaed it from him.

This worked for me, and was a hell of a lot faster than waiting in line...

Go to The Official Counter-Strike Page and download the half-life updater (2.6MB) from one of the sites listed. Run the program and find a site near you! Simple simple, and no 400 of 400 in line, 18 mins remaining...

There is no CS1.2 for half life owners, so this patch is useless to us retail CS owners...hardly any servers will require it. "In a few weeks - or longer" CS 1.3 will come out for both MOD and retail. That's majors BS "or longer", just tell us wtf is up say a real time "around 2 months". This patch is USELESS if you don't play ona LAN against other retail CS OWNERS!

well since i have the downloaded version of CS...all i need is the patch for HL...and now i'm like #400 or something in fileplanet...guess that's the only one available right now...

Forget about it, it's useless...there is nothing new inthe patch! We must wait for 1.3 in a few weeks. I don't understasnd why they released 1.2 for retail CS users, cuz it changes nothing in CS...they really like to fux around and look like they care, maybe the should just release CS 2.0 using a q3 engine or some shiznet jesus.

use sierra auto-updater, it skips the lines at fileplanet, etc.

get the halflife update at hlcenter.com. it was really fast for me.

YES YOU DO NEED IT IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING THE 1.3 PATCH FOR CS...iF you have the retail version of CS then you need the update to run the next CS patch (1.3 or whatever messed up numbering system sierra used to confuse people with the retail and downloaded version)...if you have the downloaded version you need the half-life update to be able to run the CS 1.3 in a couple of weeks. PLEASE NOTE that both are exactly the same patches...because all they do is update the game engine...which means...YOU WILL NOT SEE ANY NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE.

Which is why I ask, why not skip this dumb 1.2 and when 1.3 comes out include everything? This thing "updating our game engine" is BS, just do it all in 1.3.

It's like "Let's buy this item and have it ship next day, but we can't get it till 2 weeks anyways cuz we're on vacation - BUT STILL!"
