Evening all, 2 d-link nics, 1 d-link 8 port 10/100 switch.
All hooked up lights on,and nothing else. trying to set up 2 computers to play games.
1 computer has 3 icons showing in My network places (add network place,Entire Network and Home Networking Wizard) The other computer has nothing in My network places but I get the following
error ( an error has occurred in the script on this page)
could this be the problem? any known fix or link to a fix for this?
both computers are using win me os
I would be glad to provide more info just tell me what more if any you need to know
Thanks

Make sure your protocols match. Specfically, add any to the one computer that does not see the
network properly.

Three words: you need NetBEUI.

Well if he's setting it up to play games I'd say those words are you need tcp/ip, if some older games then you need ipx.

His network places should only work if he has NetBEUI and File and Printer Sharing installed. TCP/IP is pretty standard, especially if he is sharing an Internet connection.

But, since he hasn`t given much more detail on what protocols are installed...
