is Mariska Hargitay leaving SVU to be a mom? Saw her pregnant picture on the cover of TV Guide (couple of weeks old issue? I don't remember)

She is taking some time off -- she is supposed to come back after the pregnancy. Season is almost over at is so I don't know how many episodes she will truely miss. The new cop's name is Anthony Anderson. I think he was only in this one episode since he packed up his desk at the end, but we will see where it goes.

olivia asked for a new partner because her feelings were hurt whenever stabler was talking about wanting a new partner because last week they were chasing a pedophile/murderer and olivia didn't shoot him when she had the chance, so the guy slashed her neck. stabler tended to olivia instead of chase the perp (the perp ended up slitting one of the kid's throat... there were two kids). he's all emo about it and realizes that he's falling for olivia and it's getting in the way of their work.

in reality, though, olivia (mariska hargitay) is preggers. i think that has something to do with this. she's coming back after the baby's out... i hope.... she'd better come back.... she's about 70.5% of the reason i watch the show.

Yeah, the show would not be the same without her. Although they managed to keep the original L&O going through many cast changes, they haven't done such a great job with the temporary cast change on Criminal Intent.

Mariska Hargitay is leaving the show temporarily cause she's pregnant and will be on maternity leave for the rest of the season. I really didn't like the new guy from last night's episode. He was too....loud. lol..so I hope he's gone for good. According to the previews for next week Olivia's going to be back again briefly like she was in last night's episode. so yay! She promised on her website that she's signed on for another season so expect her back next fall.

Although there's a lot of romantic/sexual tension between Stabler and Benson..there's no way they will EVER hook up. It will completely ruin the show cause there's always giong to be some weird awkward-ness and even Chris Meloni (Stabler) mentioned on his website that it wouldn't be a good idea.

And that episode where Olivia got her neck slashed by the pedophile dude was so intense!!!! I was like "OMG...if they "kill" her off or make it so that she's lying comatose in the hospital for the remainder of the season I'll boycott the show!"...but luckily they're just reassigning her to a different department and she'll still (hopefully) make random cameo appearances on the show.

heehee...Olivia Benson's like 80% of the reason I watch this how. Stabler gets 15% and the rest gets 5%. lol.

olivia will have a temporary replacement though, it will be connie nielsen (gladiator, the devils advocate).

i think with benson out they should focus more of the show on munch and fin. they have a good rapport with each other and id think itd make for some entertaining tv. its great with stabler and benson in the lead, but with her out they should reduce stabler to a few minutes an episode as he deals with his inner-demons.
