New guy needs answers

hey.

have just got up a duron 600@1060. I got the client, but for sopme reason I am cracking ogr instead of rc5. How do I switch that. Also, I am not getting my password over my email. It's been a week!!

open the client. Right click on it and go to config.

Go to #2, then #9. change the order to this:

RC5=1,OGR=0,DES=0,CSC=0

If you decide to run OGR later, you can change it here

The email never gets sent automatically. You need to go here: DNET, enter the email addy you are cracking under, go to the bottom and click on the &quot;Please email me my password&quot; button.

Then go to This Link, and clink the small text link on the bottom which says &quot;I won?t to join this team&quot;. And enter your full email for the username, and the password you got.

I don't understand.

I went to your link RaySun2Be, but I couldn't find where to enter my email addy. All that page is is a page that list Aggregate Statistics ??? I furthur searched the site, and found nuthin!

Up at the top, under participant stats, there is a text box for a search. Enter your email addy there, and click on the search button. When it finds you, then go to the bottom and request the password be emailed.

FYI,

The slightly better way to make it crack RC5 is to add these two lines:

[misc]
project-priority=DES,CSC,RC5,OGR

[buffers]
frequent-threshold-checks=4

This tells the client to crack RC5 and when it runs out to reload the buffer. It will only go to OGR if it can't get more RC5 blocks for some reason (like the proxy is down, your internet connection is down, or the contest is over). This way, you have a fall back in case something goes wrong and the client will still be doing useful work for Team AnandTech.

PS This is a fairly &quot;new&quot; way of setting the client, which is why a lot of people still use/suggest the old way. This new method is the &quot;official&quot; FAQ version, but everyone is free to set theirs up as they see fit! Later!
