Alright! I am changing a few things in my computer. I've only built 2 and those were in everyway alike. So I am no pro, the first computer took me 5 hours to read through the manual, and figure everything out. Second one took me only a few minutes. Recently, my motherboard crashed and now I'm feeling a little better since it wasn't my processor. On the otherhand, I am now facing a possible non-refund on my motherboard from MSI and may be forced to buy a new. Here's the thing, the current processor is an AMD 3000+ Socket 754. Socket 754! Meaning, if I wanted to up to 939 I'd have to buy a new processor too.

I have SOME money but I didn't want to spend it all on computer stuff again this round of paychecks. I need some help, tips, suggestions, anything will be taken into serious consideration because I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. As much as I would like to learn, I don't have a gaming center I can walk to everyday to figure stuff out. Here's some suggestions to get you're mind into motion, use you're imagination. Should I:

1. Sell my current AMD 3000+ Processor/Heatsink
--A. Buy A new processor and motherboard.
2. Buy another new 754 motherboard and keep my processor.
3. Continue to try for an RMA and wait this storm out.

Currently I am without a computer and I'm using my brothers virus/adware infested thing and it's getting REALLY annoying. Anyways my CURRENT System specs:

Here's a thing or two to let you know what I'm dealing with.
Money: $200.00 MAX (Rather not spend anything, but if I HAVE Too *sigh)
Knowledge: Limited, very limited.

Feel free to take one thing out, replace it, and suggest something else. Ramrod suggested for me to put in a 6600 or some pci express video card. Someone else suggested a 3500+ processor. Someone else suggested new case, PSU, mod kits.. The list goes on. What can be done? Also, if it involves removing something and then in turn me selling it. Be sure to throw in an educated guess and add that to my budget. Remember, I'm still down a motherboard, and unless I can't get this one fixed, I need to start looking to spend money on that too.

Also to note, I personally don't see any problems with my computer right now. I can run any game on max settings without any lag, and if it starts to get complicated throw it into lamens terms if you can, or just tell me what it means in lamens terms so I know what you're talking about. Peace out. Thx!

Well I did fix it didn't i? I think people who post just for posts are dumb. For those of you that didn't catch it. Once I entered the title of the thread, i accidentally hit enter thus leaving a blank thread, so i edited it stating that I am fixing the mistake. Now its all fixed

That one mistake and that one guy that exploited it threw me back a few days now only for people to continue to go after it. Please just move on and stop this non-sence.

hmm, with only $200 i dont think it will be possible to upgrade to S939. you will just have to replace the mobo. that really stinks.
