1. Sends out an email to our whole dept about some theme for xp to make it look like vista with the 30mb attachment. Boss emails back that he strongly advise not to install it our priviledged PCs. Well too late he already done it. I'm thinking wtf would he think that the IT director of the company would want his xp to look like vista anways?

2. Boss sends out an email to all management and cc our department in the company about his schedule for the next 2 weeks. In that he will be taking a few vacation days and also spend 2 days in a meeting with one of our vendors. Thinking he'll be funny new guy replies to the email with "Party time!". Email goes to all managers and owner of the company.

3. Yesterday the boss was returning to the meeting after a break. New guy stumbles upon his unlocked and decides to get the boss back after he tried to change his background earlier that week. A few minutes later the new guy has a problem and needs the help of the boss so boss had to be dragged out of the meeting. Boss finds his background changed and thinks he was dragged out of the meeting just for that. Tells new guy to GTF out of his office (not in those words).

I doubt you'll have to deal with it much longer. These things have a way of working themselves out. ;)

Some people are just not aware of office etiquette. I worked with a guy much worse than that at my last internship. I don't think this guy you speak of will last long at your company.

it's and etiquette issue. training doesn't really help either. it can minimize it but good common sense sadly cannot be learned or picked-up easily.

"office etiquette" aka "common sense"
