Which chip would you be choosing for better overclocking results?

Any brand in particular?

I believe that the 6800GT would have to be the best overclocking value (not the best overclocker) for the money. Another poll in her shows about a 70% chance of reaching 6800U Ultra speeds for @ $100 less than the cost of an Ultra. The X800pro seems to overclock like mad judging from the folks in here, but it cant seem to catch the X800XT in performance due to it only having 12 pipes. My take.

I voted for the X800 XT because General Grevious was able to overclock his to over 600+ MHz! I don't think any of the other cards can reach an 80+ MHz overclock on air cooling, but I could be wrong?

I'm still waiting to buy an XT or Ultra (can't find one) :(

I thought he only got the core to 580?

He is 600/600 right know with the VGA silencer I believe.... but wasn't it a X800Pro?

I think he got to 600+ / 600 with the XT, he doesn't have a pro to my knowledge. He has a GT too but, he said the overclocking wasn't as good?

With the overclocking I have seen reported from the pros & XT's... I can't wait to see the upcoming x800 GT.... you should be able to easily overclock that cheaper 16 pipe part.

I think the only hold up with the Ultras & XT's now is the higher clocked ram???

even though I have an Ultra that goes to Ultra Extreme Speeds, I think the GT is the best price/performace card for this generation.

I got to 600/600 with stock cooling. I am gonna push it a tad more now that my temps aren't scorching.

Percentagewise, its not spectacular, only 14%. And I think I am the odd card out, most people haven't been so lucky.

He has a GT too but, he said the overclocking wasn't as good?
My GT is bad, but I still got 408 core. Regardless, that's still the card to buy right now. It's exceptional for anything but Unreal Tournament.

Where did you hear about an X800GT and when is it supposed to be released?

LOL... don't shoot the messenger... the Inquirer. Actually they said it probably won't be called a GT but, they are going to start shipping a lower clocked 16 pipe product. Seeing how high the cores on the XT & Pros go... this should be a cheap way to get an XT or better?

Possibly an early nvidia reference board? Maybe.

I'm at 540/540 on my X800 Pro, stock air cooling. No artifacts with ATITool and Aquamark. I got my core to run at 560 with no artifacts.
