New GPU and Monitor

Well I'm looking to replace my BFG 8800GT finally, as I'm getting some bad artifacting. The Gcard has been very loyal and lasted me almost 4 years(I think).

So now what to replace it with. I've heard great things about the cooling of the MSI cards, but am open to any suggestions. I plan on building a whole new Sandy Bridge rig eventually, but some parts I can play with now and enjoy.

I'm looking at these two monitors:

O O, my budget is somewhere around 400. I figure, if there is a great deal of a performance boost between items that puts me a little over, that is ok, I just need clarity as to why I should spend more.

The one i listed is the same thing, mine just happens to have a rebate. So the one i linked is 25 bucks cheaper in the end.
