New Google feature raises privacy concerns

wow , it worked, my phone number popped me right up

but my number is public/published in the phone book, so how is this different?

Apparently my phone number used to belong to a flower shop, so the info that comes up is bogus. It's still somewhat weird - especially since it may work for unlisted numbers?

I don't really think its a big deal... The driving directions are a little unnerving, cause that doesen't come with normal phonebook listing, lol.. but it's no big deal, unless you tell all your enemies your personal information.

Didn't work for me. Too bad, i would have liked mine to be listed. How is this any different than somebody using the phonebook and a map? Except to save some convenience.

It didnt work for me, long live Cell phones! No telemarketers and free long distance why be tied to a land line ever again ?!

I would assume it wouldn't work for cell phones, yeah.

Didn't work for me, tried all 3 of my numbers.

You go to Google.com and type in your 10 digit phone number with no spaces or dashes, right?

Nothing.

Where? Nothing came up when I searched for "Google" or "privacy." If they didn't name their thread well that's sure not my fault.
