good post! That may be a nice to to stick on my Zalman 9500 once i want a bit more "silent" power out of it :) Havent seen any reviews of them yet, but no doubt someone who frequents the AT\SPCR forums will get their hands on a few of these soon enough!

I'm not so sure about that... GT fans are virtually nonexistant in the US, and I don't know if anyone wants to order a fan from abroad just to test it.

I live in Australia, where these things are EVERYWHERE, and very cheap ($9 AUD for the 120mm version)! Maybe ill have to get one and try it out myself. Havent seen them for sale anywhere as yet, but it shouldnt take long for them to get down here.

Available in Canada. At Anitec in Vancouver BC; one problem ... they won't ship to the USA as of now, but are planning to do so in the future. How far into the future, is speculation !!

I have 2 NEW spare 120mm's and 3 spare 80 mm but didn't pick up any 92's. You can believe the specs. They are very quiet and push alot of air.

If you want to try a 120 or 80 you can PM me.
80's are $9.05 + $3.50 shipping ($12.55 Cdn) or $10.65 US$
120's are $16.50 + $3.50 shipping ($20.00 Cdn) or $16.95 US$

modempower: $1000 for a CPU... that's pricey ! Of the $16.50 .. 14% was taxes! In Canada we get taxed on tax. Only place I know that's worse is Pheonix AZ. 22% on rental cars.!

cyberknight: 9 bladed silent fan @1000 rpm; 37cfm and only 19db. I'd say it's worth it.

Anyone feeling lucky? :)

okay lets take a look at a few fans..
the Glacial tech 92 mm fan....1600rpm @ 19dba.....

Zalman 92 mm fan...1600rpm@ 20dba....

Coolermaster 80 mm fan.....1400rpm@ 13dba

Zalman 120mm fan...hmmmm you cannot buy a Zalman 120mm seperately....argggg

Coolermaster 120mm fan....Ultra Silent Fan Series (SAF-S12-E1)
720rpm@13dba
http://www.coolermaster.com/index.php?L...AF-S12-E1Ultra%20Silent%20Fan%20Series

Coolermaster Aluminum Fan 120mm...1200rpm@23dba

Coolermaster Neon LED Fan120mm....1220rpm@22dba

Coolermaster Tri-Blade System Fan....1320rpm@19.8dba

Alot of good quiet fans on the market if you look and choose....

Yet the only drawback is Zalman doesn`t report the CFM and the coolermaster are all low CFM`s compared to other fans!

Yet let me say on my XP120 --using the Thermaltake Smart fan with its ultra high CFM is over 90...yet the noise factor also goesd up incrementally....
Compared to using the coolermaster 120mm fans with a dba of 22 even at max cfm...even thoughh the max cfm is much lower than the Thermaltake Smart fan....

I actually do not take a hit in the CPU temperature catagorie when my CPU is not over clocked.

But when I over clock my CPU to anything over 3.6 thats when the thermaltakes extrodibarie 90+cfm is very very nice to have!!

YES a few do report the technical specs accurately!!

If anyone has one of these (Glacial's) and a Nexus, plz provide user experience with the 2. As I am always seeking "new," "quiet" fans, a good quantitative/comparative analysis would be great!

JBD: I've never tried Nexus; but all my PC's have an intake and exhaust that are GT's. 3 cases use the 120's and the Lian Li uses the 80's. Quiet enuf to hear the water gurgling in the reservoir tank.
Watercooled CPU's at 39*C; mobo's at 30*C; Room at 23*C .

Jedi: I think you made a mistake: the GT 120 is advertised as running at 950rpm. All mine run between 1000 and 1025 rpm. I don't know where you get 1700 rpm. Yes I do... the 80's run at 1700rpm ; 26 cfm @ 19db

I bought mine at Anitec. I just scanned the boxes, now if I can figure how to add the attachment to this post ??? This wouldn't be the first time Anitec misprinted; misquoted; or misrepresented an item.

thats ok no great loss....
the GT fans are some very fine fans!!
Here is the USA I have found that the Coolermaster fans are very accurate in there posted specs which makes a big difference if your buying fans!!

Alot of companies misrepresnt there rated specs...

Just a note in talking with my Grandson in Poland he told me thats practuically the only brand of fans he can get his hands on!!
In Poland GT is very big!! Not just fans but PSU`s.....Heatsinks etc...
