New Gigabyte mobo delivers 1500W power to your 1366 CPU.

My CPU seems like it would need 1500W to hit 4.0ghz stable.

🙁

you have got to be ******* kidding me. maybe we will need that when the 48 cores hit the market but now its just plain stupid.

well, they used 2v, nobody will put that much vcore out, even on ln2...

So its really more like 700 watt. Who knows, a 980X@6 ghz on ln2 ??? How much would it draw ? or an octo-core ?

Yeah I noticed that as well, voltage seemed pretty high for all the tests. Maybe the power circuit isn't able to deliver nearly as much power at lower voltage?

Still pretty cool, though. Obviously nobody would ever need anywhere close to that much power, but an extremely over-engineered board should bode well for its quality. That's the point. 🙂
