Original songs

"Same Old Song and Dance" by Aerosmith
"Helicopter" by Bloc Party
"Stricken" by Disturbed
"Monsters" by Matchbook Romance
"Before I Forget" by Slipknot
"Kool Thing" by Sonic Youth
"When You Were Young" by the Killers

Rerecorded songs

"Devil Went Down to Georgia" as made famous by Charlie Daniels Band
"Sunshine of Your Love" as made famous by Cream
"Holiday in Cambodia" as made famous by Dead Kennedys
"Cliffs of Dover" as made famous by Eric Johnson
"Hit Me with Your Best Shot" as made famous by Pat Benatar
"Black Magic Woman" as made famous by Santana
"Story of My Life" as made famous by Social Distortion
"Pride and Joy" as made famous by Stevie Ray Vaughn
"The Seeker" as made famous by The Who
"Black Sunshine" as made famous by White Zombie

For some reason, I just want to get it now to play "Devil Went Down to Georgia" - though I don't see how they'll be able to do a fiddle intensive song like that.

Yay for

Who
Cream
Dead Kennedys
Eric Johnson
SRV
Social D
Sonic Youth

Thumbs down for

Slipknot

I keep meaning to preorder this. I think the game is only 49.99 by itself. Who needs a wireless guitar anyway?

I also heard that Devil went down to GA is the final boss battle where you battle the devil and that it is not the original. Someone is making a guitar version with crazy solos.

I also heard that the Cult of Personality is a new version re-recorded by Living Colour and that the solo is even sicker than the original. I loved that solo so much though. I hope they don't ruin it.

The further I read down the list the more I convinced myself I really didn't need GH3. And then I got to "Cliffs of Dover". I'm buying this for sure.

That song by Slipknot is annoying. I like a few of their songs but it sucks that they picked that one.

I would have preferred Vermillion Pt. 2 or some of the other more guitar intensive songs - though a preference would have been on Stone Sour instead as it's not as hard.

Before I Forget is one of the better songs on the album IMO. But I don't really like the album so take that as you will. Glad to see Disturbed and Santana in there. The tracklist for GH3 is looking quite a bit better than Rock Band for me at this point.

I think Rock Band's list is alot better but Guitar Hero is great. I just don't like all that nu-metal crap. I can't wait to get arthritis trying to play Dragonforce though. I'll be getting both.

I like Rock Band's track list better simply because it's actually original songs, if I have my facts straight. Unfortunately, GH uses a lot of Cover songs, rather than originals.

Actually the majority of the songs from both releases are original this time. The thing I'm most excited about is the downloadable Rock Band stuff. Full albums of The Who and Metallica..../orgasm.

Yeah I know it'll prolly be like 15 dollars each.

I was thinking more on the lines of In Flames, Dragonforce, Metallica, etc... Rock Band doesn't have any metal (well one Metallica song to start) and I love metal. But it makes sense since RB has a mic now... not many people would want or could do the metal vocals.

Ya InFlames and Dragonforce are awesome. I just don't like slipknot I guess. I hope that Rock Band will get more "guitar shredder" stuff as dlc. I assume the out of the box tracklist is varied and on the whole kinda tame because they want it to appeal to alot of people.

The inclusion of SRV and Eric Johnson (even if they are remakes) does it for me. I will be getting GHIII.
I would of prefered either SRV's version of Little Wing, or Texas Flood or maybe The House is Rockin' instead of Pride and Joy though.

Can't wait for this to come out so I can finally practice being a rock star in my underwear at night.

Don't forget to get in your Power Stance. I can't play GHII unless I'm in my Power Stance.....in my underwear.

I saw them live and they were a damn trainwreck. HORRIBLE live, and not much better on cd.

Who? Deftones? or the 16 other artists mentioned in this thread? 😛

I dont understand the point of including a fiddle song in a guitar game, but I'm still looking forward to rocking it with my fist held high (when I'm not strumming of course)
