I went out and picked up that GF3 Ti200 special the have at BB today and so far I have to say I am a little disappointed. I jumped straight into Medal Of Honor and bumped all the video settings up in the game and it plays horrible. Res is at 800x600 and it is still choppy. I am guessing I need to change some settings??

Its a known fact that MOH's framerates drop down to 20-30 FPS in some areas. And this is on systems that are faster than yours.

Don't believe me.....go to Allied Assult under the General Discussion forum. There are are numerous posts about low FPS in this game.

The low framerates in MOH is due to the game engine...not your system. Everyone who is playing MOH is having this problem. We can only hope it gets better with future patches.

I have a T-Bird 1GHz and a GF3 Ti200 (Gainward @ 240/520) and Medal of Honor plays very smooth at 1024x768 with everything maxed out except the shadows. (Shadows at the lowest setting)

edit: I also have the patch for version 1.1

I agree with Lars, MoH runs quite nicely at 1280x1024 for me with everything at max. I have a gainward TI 200 and 1700+. So not everyone is having problems with MoH. I would try other games first to see if it's just that game.

Did you correctly remove all traces of your previous video card?

Also you might be running in PCI mode. Make sure your AGP aperture size is at least 128 MB.

Do you have FSAA enabled if so disable that, also check in Bios you`ve all video shadowing disabled, try closing other software that runs in the background like anti-virus etc before you run the game.

BFG10K - You say at least 128 MB for the aperture size. What exactly does this do and what is the highest I should set it. I know that it is set at 64 right now.

Mem - what is FSAA?

CiSmAXz,FSAA means "Full Scene Anti-aliasing" , what it does in the very basic sense is get rid of jagged lines, for info there`s an old article on by Anandtech here and another one here

,it will lower your gaming speed if FSAA is enabled, you should be ok running it enabled with a GF3 Ti200 but you can disable it to see if your choppyness goes away,it`s in the Nvidia display properties display panel there`s an option to turn it off.

Btw what OS(Win98 or 2k/XP) do you have?

I agree with the FSAA diagnosis. It's "On" by default when you install a new NVIDIA card. Probably so NVIDIA can release a new driver with it "Off" by default and blow away all the newbs with the good performance lol.

I have installed the VIA 4in1 drivers when I built this system (about a month ago). Do I need to reinstall them since I changed the video card? I also do not see the option for FSAA. And can someone expand more on the aperture setting in the BIOS?

Just updated the VIA 4in1 drivers
