If this was the show, it jumped over the trees but failed on sticking the landing.

Rear wheel drive or just sucky wet traction tires? (Light rain)

I mean, both? Performance tires often suck in the wet.

Plus, the stereotype of people who are "all drip no cap" would definitely include driving around on bald tires because you're can't afford replacements. If I dealt in stereotypes.

Or they were dumb and were trying to zip around and lost control.

I have squirrely accelerator pedal when I'm driving in flip flops. I'll do it if I'm just going down the street but not if I'm driving more than a mile or two. But I don't have a high powered rwd car either.

Nope. 2 door coupe.

so they changed the 2 door 1969 Dodge Charger (General Lee) into a 4door?
And renamed the 2 door as Challenger?

So you've been out of the loop a while then. Ford also brought the lightning back as the raptor, then made another lightning because electricity. Ford also brought the pinto back for a while but called it the mustang which was weird, they eventually updated it to be more like the old mustang though, shortly after Chevy re-released the horse-eater.

They run Chargers for a reason.

The Chargers are designed for pursuit which is why you see them more on highways and in rural areas.

I can't recall the earlier ones now, but Plymouth and Dodge both had pursuit vehicles back in the 70s along with Ford and Chevy.

Around here, the cops almost all drive SUVs. Mostly Ford Explorers, but some Dodge and Checy products too.
In Michigan (first pic) the staties in sedans are there for regular non-semi truck traffic enforcement. If you see a SUV it's likely checking on truckers.

Easier to carry portable scale units in an SUV than in a sedan.
