Hi, heard that Nvidia is going to release its NV30 card on Nov 18th.

this generation has AGP8x support. wondering what is the different compare with today's AGP4x.

and what other hardware support that today doesn't have.

i know 8x is - 4x 2

but GF5 will not double the speed of GF4.

how much faster in real life?

i need one videocard soon.

how do you know the Geforce5 (if that is what it will be called) won't be twice as fast as the Geforce4? afterall, the radeon9700 Pro is 250% as fast as the Geforce4 ti4600 in some situations. in terms of 8x AGP vs 4x AGP, it doesn't make much of a difference.

10% difference with Radeon 9700 Pro from 4x to 8x from what I heard. Is it worth it? You decide.

I don't think 8xAGP will give a noticeable difference until the NV35.

***250% difference ***

are u kidding?

from what i heard of Radeon 9700 is faster than ti4600, but no way a 2.5x

what kind of situations?

ya, i just call it GF5.

as u can see i am still using first gen of Geforce, i need a new one within a month or so. . .

i know i can't afford the GF5 when it is released. $400 i believe.

i personally feel (though i have only had a geforce 3 so far) that i doubt many cards push agp x2 let alone x8

with my geforce 3 and a slightly older mother board it would only run in x1 mode now a new motherboard x4 and seems the same speed

I just want to see NVDA to kick ATI's ass soon. And they better or they're doomed. :D
