What are the chances that Gateway will come out with a better model soon? I am not satisfied with the video card in the 7422GX. It would help if it was a Turion based model as well.

So, any inside news?

You're not satisfied with a Radeon 9550?
No specific info on video cards for Turion chipsets, but IIRC it has PCI-E capability; just depends whether the manufacturer decides to use it.
I wouldn't count on Gateway putting a poweful PCI-E video card into a Turion chipset, but it all depends on how powerful Turion it is going to be.

Since Gateway uses this Arima ODM kit in their current AMD models, it wouldn't surprise me if they (or some other OEM) decided to implement this Turion64 supported ODM design, which combines the Radeon Xpress 200M chipset (the only announced AMD mobile PCIe chipset so far) with the X300/X600/X700. Every reseller I know of including TigerDirect, BestBuy, and CompUSA has found it difficult to keep the current Mobile Athlon64 models (and the previous model with the Mobility Radeon 9600) in stock, so Gateway would be foolish not to go with Turion64 and at least an X600 to continue the line.

Well, it depends how expensive & how powerful Turion is going to be. If it offers performance comparable to an A64, I could see mobile A64's all but disappearing in favor of Turion. However, it turns out to be more of a 64-bit low-power Sempron, then I wouldn't count on a powerful GPU with it. The Radeon 200M chipset is supposed to be pretty decent, but just because they might use that chipset doesn't mean they will use a decent video card. Sony's FS550 uses the new Alviso 915GM chipset, but on most models puts an Intel GMA 900 in it :Q and DDR333 :Q
There is a thread here that links to another thread in another forum where Turion info is compiled, be sure to check there for updates.
