A few years back when my wife and I found out we were going to be having a baby we went around looking at family cars. She was drving an Eclipse Spyder at the time, so we wanted to get a 4 door for obvious reasons. One of the cars we test drove was a Chrysler 300C. It was a lower trim level with the 3.5 V6 and not many options. We really, really liked the car, but could not justify spending $21k for a pretty stripped car. We ended up with a 02 Mercury Sable at half the price and twice the options. But we still liked those Chrysler 300's.
Fast forward a few years. My wife makes a lot more money now then she did a few years back, and the 300's have become more affordable. I started looking this week out of curiosity just to see what we could get at a price we'd be happy with. I even looked at a few SRT-8's, but it just wasn't worth the extra money to us. So, last night she came home with an 06 300C. I haven't been around many 'nice' cars really, some of the options this car has I didn't even know existed.
For a larger car it feels really a lot more 'tight' then I thought it would. It accelerates smooth as buttah. The car just feels so well put together compared to what we're used to. It has some pretty nice options, heated leather, navi, sat/mp3/in-dash CD changer, power everything, sun roof, dual climate control, the personalized settings thing where the seat/pedals/steering wheel move when you put the key in it, and a ton of things I'm sure I'm forgetting. Most importantly it has the 5.7 litre engine with a 5 speed auto and the auto stick thing-a-ma-bob (I think it's auto stick, I can move the lever left/right and it changes gears).
My only concern is her driving it in the WI winters. Luckily she works about 8 minutes from our home, and we are 2 blocks from a main road (will get priority with the plows) that she takes to work. So, between that and the car being heavy and having traction control I think she should be alright. I don't know what kind of gas mileage to expect, but her commute is quite short and the company she works for pays for her gas anyway, so it really doesn't matter.
Anyway, here are a few pics.

At first I really didn't care for the color when I saw the pictures on the dealer website, but in person I think it looks great. It's a nice combo with the grey/off-white interior.
Anyway, I just wanted to share.
