Hello , I am looking to buy a new gaming system , I want to start with an AMD 3200 (64) bit chip but don't know which MOBO or memory to buy . could someone offer me some advice.
I am looking to buy the best quality performance system and NOT the best bang for the buck by this coming weekend.
I have'nt been able to keep up with the fast and forever growning industry of PC mania. I just want to play games
Any how I would appreciate any advice i can get , my goal and I am sure is for many gamer's out there is to get the best system to play...................DOOM 3 (of course),I just got the $500 ATI very nice but now i need some HP to back it up.

2 good options for motherboard:

VIA K8T800 Pro chipset.... Abit KV8 Pro
NFOrce3 250 chipset......... MSI K8N Neo platinum

I'd go for one of these if I were to be upgrading within the next few days or so. (god knows what is just around the corner) :)

As for RAM... anything faster than you need (to leave room for overclocking OR dumbing down the timings)

I recommend Kingston Hyper-X.

Get the K8N Neo, there's been some issues with some of the KV8 Pros having faulty AGP/PCI locks. As for RAM, get 1x or 2x ADATA Vitesta PC4000 - it's cheaper than most reputed manufacturers' PC3200 value line, overclocks well, and is generally a hell of a deal.
