do not need to spend that much on psu nor do you need that much power, save a little money by getting a tagan 480w u22 or something comparable. sli is silly, so you wont be needing an sli board, msi neo4 if you're not overclocking, epox 9npa if you are, dfi ultra-d if you're really overclocking. get a seagate 300gb at outpost.com comes with rebates. replace the plextor with a benq dw1640, best burner for only $40. for the price you're paying for the sound card, get the bluegears x-mystique. unless you know the differences from xp pro and xp home, stick with xp home.

Bah don't listen to these chumps. Keep the PSU. If nothing else, you'll still have it when you do your next build, or decide to overclock the shiznat out of that rig. Good setup though for under 2K. As for HDD's The general feeling I've gotten is that Maxtor is now down at the bottom of the heap as far as satisfaction goes. Maybe consider a Seagate or Hitachi drive?

Very nice system overall.

I'd just get the SATA hard drive, there is no major differance in speed, but the smaller cable is nice.

Do you really need 2 DVD burners?? Especialy since that plextor is so pricey, doesn't really seem worth it.

As was already mentioned, SLI is really a waste, I have the DFI lanparty NF4 Ultra-D,
and it works great for me, so you could save yourself about $40 there.

PC P&P power supplies are top of the line, but it's really overpriced, and you can get a solid quality PSU for a lot less. I have always been happy with enermax, and Antec, fortron, and seasonic are all good as well. I have an Antec 450w powering my X2 rig with my 7800GT.

how about my choice for the sound should i get the x-fi ,if so which one ? i see two diff ones on newegg.com one is for $399 the other is $115?
