I've lurked here for a little, but just registered to get some opinion my build. I'm looking to build a new gaming rig in the next couple weeks for about 1000 bucks. Right now it's at 1120, which is acceptable if I need to but lowering it a little would be great.
1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Games. BC2, WoW, MW2. I'm looking to be able to play modern games at good settings at least. Also may watch hd movies eventually, but figure that won't be an issue.
2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
About 1000 after shipping and taxes. (Canada is the worst for that, turns a 1000 dollar build into a 1200 dollar build.
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
Canada.
4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.
Not really a fanboy, but through my own research have decided to go with AMD/ATI combo for best bang for my buck.
5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
As of right now, a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and sound card.
6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
I have.
7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
Not going to be overclocking.
8. What resolution YOU plan on gaming with.
Ultimately I want to game at 1920x1080.
9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Within the next few weeks, a month at most.
So here's what I have.
