Afternoon / Evening,

I am in the process of offloading my "work" PC to purchase a gaming PC as I seriously regret selling my gaming rig about 4 months ago.

My plans are to spend around $2500.00 to $3000.00CDN on this rig on Monday so any help would be really appreciated!

So far, I have a selection of equipment so I'll list it off and please provide feedback on the selection if you do not mind.

Case: Antec P180
Power Supply: OCZ 520W PowerStream
Motherboard: Asus A8N-SLI Premium
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
Memory: OCZ 1GB PC3200 Gold Edition
Hard Drive: Seagate 250GB Barracuda 7200.8 Serial ATA
Optical Drive: Pioneer DVR-110D 16x16x8 Dual Layer DVD+/-RW
Floppy Drive: Panasonic 1.44MB Floppy Drive
Video Card: ATI Radeon X800 XL 256MB GDDR3 PCI-E (Retail)
O/S: Windows XP Professional
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 930BF 19in Digital LCD (4ms)
Audio: M-Audio Delta 44 (Already own)
Speakers: Creative Labs I-Trigue 3400 2.1
Cooling: Zalman CNPS7700-Cu, Zalman VF700-Cu , VANTEC 120mm Fan
Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 3 (Already own)

Total Price w/ G.S.T - $2883.00

Or...

This is ultimatley a gaming rig for BF2, CoD2 and the like...

My laptop is used for my business stuff so this rig will be mostly used for my Music Production and Gaming experience...

Please provide some feedback so I can change things before I pick things up on Monday...

Thanks for your help!

Overall, pretty good and anyone would be happy with it.. BUT there's a couple things you could do a little better with:

Case: Antec P180 good
Power Supply: OCZ 520W PowerStream nice
Motherboard: Asus A8N-SLI Premium nice board, I used to have one. Got rid of it so I could overclock further. I'd recommend a DFI board, they are really nice and will give you more flexibility, tweakability, quality, and overclocking ability
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ very nice - this or an x2 4400 if you can swing it
Memory: OCZ 1GB PC3200 Gold Edition recommend 2gb (2 x 1gb)- especially for BF2. 1gb is starting to be not quite enough for the latest games.
Hard Drive: Seagate 250GB Barracuda 7200.8 Serial ATA nice drive. This is one of several recent drives that offer great all around performance. Maxtor Maxline III is very highly rated also. Check out the Hitachi T7K series also, or even a Raptor. You'll be happy no matter which of these you get
Optical Drive: Pioneer DVR-110D 16x16x8 Dual Layer DVD+/-RW
Floppy Drive: Panasonic 1.44MB Floppy Drive
Video Card: ATI Radeon X800 XL 256MB GDDR3 PCI-E (Retail) Look into a 7800GT or 7800GTX if possible. The x800 xl is nice, but not compared to the 7800s- and for modern games and in the coming year(s), you'll wish you had at least a 7800GT
O/S: Windows XP Professional
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 930BF 19in Digital LCD (4ms)
Audio: M-Audio Delta 44 (Already own) nice card- for music. If you want to take advantage of the latest sound technologies for gaming - get an X-FI, or at the minimum an Audigy 2ZS. The M-Audio is gonna tax your CPU, also.
Speakers: Creative Labs I-Trigue 3400 2.1
Cooling: Zalman CNPS7700-Cu, Zalman VF700-Cu , VANTEC 120mm Fan
Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 3 (Already own) You may as well order a tube of Arctic Silver 5, it'll work a little better maybe a degree or two C, for a couple bucks
