Hi
New gaming rig - and having some problems.
My rig
eVGA 7800GT
AMD Athlon 64 3700+
2 Gigs of OCZ PC 3200 2-3-2-5
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a...227210&ATT=20-227-210&CMP=OTC-d3alt1me
One, 160 gig barracuta Segate 7200.7 RPM drive ATA
EPoX nForce4 Ultra (939) EP-9NPA+Ultra
My motherboards "auto" setting doesn?t set my ram to the correct times. It sees it as 2.5-3-2-5 - 2T
So I had to override the settings and change it to what it is suppose to be. (2-3-2-5-1T)
I then installed Mark05 and ran it, it crashed like 4 minutes in and gave me a memory error screen I believe (wasn?t sure it went away to fast.)
I then ran the latest version of memtest86 while I slept and when I woke up It had done 9 full circulations. With 5 (five) errors on test 8.
I have one question though - In the motherboard manual it says "for best performance to install your ram in the same colored memory slots" But they are right next to each other. Is that correct? I thought dual channel needed to skip a slot so it goes every other. I have them installed right now in the same colored slots.
Any suggestions?
