Surely a ~42% increase in cost is a significant price premium for a meager 2% to 5% gain in performance.

That is all fine and dandy, but the OP did say, "Obviously, the less I spend the better." The real-world performance in the review you linked proves my point fairly well.

Yeah, but their tests were very limited. It could be more significant depending on the app.
