New gaming laptop

So its crunch time now. My son wants a gaming laptop to replace an aging Dell Inspiron 6400. I have about $800 for it and he says he can fork over $400 more for a good one that will last him 2 years or more...hopefully. So here are the candidates...
TOSHIBA Qosmio X305-Q715 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...namitedata.com
Cheaper but a step down on the GPU, resolution, and has Vista. Don't know if it has a free Win 7 upgrade though. I've had a Tosh and it never broke, just got outdated.
Gateway P-7908u http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...namitedata.com
Bigger screen with same res as the Toshiba, Win 7, 5400RPM HD, GTX 260 M. Frankly I don't know about the durability of Gateways or their service.
ASUS G Series G51Vx-X3A http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220639
A good $100 more but has higher resolution, better warranty but smaller screen. Have had a lot of Asus hardware but is it safe to say their quality extends to these as well?

So I'm basically looking for input as well as coupons I can use to get one of these at the lowest price. If however u guys have other suggestions, please feel free to chime in.
This is a Xmas present so to speak so, I may need to pull the trigger in a few days.

Toshiba - outdated graphics. No experience except bad ones with their budget laptops from a few years back.
Gateway - I had one, excellent overall but build quality is plasticky. No overclocking.
Asus - I have the 16" version, it runs hot but it can overclocked easily (CPU). Build quality is definitely higher than Gateway.

So Asus it is. Now..any coupons out there u guys might suggest? I have the CC that has some rewards, Bing has 1% for newegg. BB might have them but I feel safer with the 2 year warranty as well as 1 year accident insurance included at Newegg.

See you on the Asus forums @ Notebookreview... You'll need us there to keep your GPU from frying.
