Yes I am a thread necro haha. Had the money but then real life things came up and now I am finally building this thing.

No, the nearest Micro Center is 3 hours from me.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will ebay that PSU and buy a 500w one instead.

And another thing: consider selling the OCZ 700W unit because your build doesn't need, and will never need, anywhere near that much power. i5-3470 + 7850 consume less than 200W during gaming (no OC). You should be able to get enough cash for it on eBay or elsewhere to afford a good quality brand new 500w unit.

I agree that the current PSU is overkill, but I don't know that it will bring in enough money to be worthwhile. Actual selling prices seem to be around $50 on average for like-new or new units. After shipping and Ebay fees, I don't know that it's really worthwhile.

Yea did a search and anything that is decent brand PSU is pulling $60 plus for a 500w. Guess I'll go overkill unless you got a suggestion.

Nothing wrong with using the parts that you've got. A ModXStream ain't exactly top quality, but it isn't actively dangerous either.
