I am building a new computer, and would like some input on the build I currently have picked out. Before I list the parts, here's some general information. It's going to be a gaming computer, my budget is about $1200-$1300 (not including the videocard), the country I will be buying things from is Canada (NCIX and Canadacomputers), I do plan on overclocking, but nothing extreme, and it is being built with a mind for upgrading it a bit in the future.

Anyway, is what I have right now:

CPU - Q9450
RAM - 4 Gigabytes of Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500 RAM
Motherboard - DFI LP Dk X48-T2RS Motherboard
Cooling - Thermalright Ultima-90
Fans - Scythe S-FLEX 120mm Fan (for the heatsink)
Case - Antec Nine Hundred
PSU - Antec TruePower Trio 650W
Harddrive - Hitachi Deskstar 500 GB
DVD-ROM - LG GSA-H62L

The one thing I am most unsure of, for the CPU heatsink, is whether or not I should just get the Ultra-120 instead of the Ultima-90. I also do not have the videocard listed here since I am going to use my current one and wait for nVidia and ATi to release their new offerings in a couple of weeks before upgrading that.

Thanks in advance for input.

recommend some other ram like gskill 1000 because ballistix haven't been as consistent lately.
motherboard might be overkill. p35 is a very good overclocking board if you don't need sli.
get a better cooler: thermalright ultra 120 extreme, tuniq tower and xigmatek s1283 are 3 of the best.
for power supply, people will say get a corsair. and if you don't need 2 video cards, 520 or 550 will be plenty. if you want 2 high-end video cards, 650 may not be enough.
good price on the hard drive. my hitachi deskstar has always serviced me well, even through the hell i put it through at times. it runs cooler than my other drives too.
otherwise, there's nothing wrong with your choices just that you could optimize cost and quality a little more.

Motherboard and RAM are definitely overkill. Good DDR2-1000 is all you need to get the most out of your overclock, and a P35 board will be fine for your purposes. If it's just for gaming, dual core might be a better choice than quad core.
