New Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket LOOX PocketPC uses 300MHz Intel X-Scale!!!

<< Hmmm, time to trade in the Ipaq 3765 aready?? :Q >>

I went from a Maxtech PD-910 (8MB) to a Compaq Aero 2110 (24MB) to a Compaq iPAQ 3600/3700 (32MB) to a Jornada 567 (64MB). This mofo looks SWEET!!!! 😀 Damn, check out the pics at the bottom of the link😛

Sigh... It sure looks sweet - but somehow I can't convince myself to put my MP2100 into retirement because of a WinCE descendant. BTW no idea what this XScale thingy is - ARM based?

Perhaps I'll go with a Psion 5MX first, since that seems to be the next PDA to fall off the edge of the cliff 🙂 :-(.

<< you gots too much money to blow 😛 >>

Actually, I'm more conservative than you may thing.

I bought the PD-910 for $200. Sold it for $150 after a year.
Bought the Aero 2110 for $200. Sold it for $200 after 8 months.
Bought the iPAQ for $500. Sold it for $350 after a year and a half.
Bought the Jornada for $460.

Here's a chart of power/performance ratings of StrongARM vs X-Scale.

Thanks for that, appreciated. Looks good - they should sell 8 way workstations with those suckers 🙂.

Nah. My current PDA is over 4 years old now - that's something like 12 dog years, innit 🙂? And, like NFS points out these things have a semi decent resale value. Last time I looked, my top end Newt was worth a little over 50% of its MSRP on ebay.

Yeah, X-Scale is some great technology. Here's some more info:
