New fronts + worn rears + snow = really fun ride

Aye yi yi. A few months ago I got a pair of Tiger Paw all seasons for the front (FWD). The rear still had the stock all season from 5yrs ago with about 6mm of thread left. It may be a combination of thread wear, thread pattern, and a bad idea of placing new tires in front, but the car would fish tail at the slightest turn.

Deductible is $1000 if I get into an accident. Half way to work I made 3 close calls already. I didn't push my luck and just pulled aside until morning traffic was over and went to Kal Tire and got me 4 Nokian WRs. No point going back to work, missing 80% of the day's training material, and having only 2hrs to go.

I thought about keep on going, but in the end it's not worth risking others and my own life or a $1k deductible. Afterall, it is just a job. I called in and my unit manager grilled me for it. He said out of 100 people in the building I was the only one that missed work today and that I should've been more prepared for winter. The later part I agreed, and apologized. But he came across as an ass, not caring about the safety of those under him or anybody else for that matter. I'm just in training and don't really like what I see so far, I'm contemplating not going back tomorrow. Or ever for that matter. Hmmmm....
