I think gadgets, gear and phones describes it perfectly. To me its obvious smartphones and tablets should be here. Shame we never discuss much besides phones and their large children. Cuz this is also the place to discuss robot toys, stand alone GPS, foot baths, knife sharpeners, etc. But no one ever wants to.

I would be ok with Everything Mobile or whatever. Also, a strict enforcement that Apple Stuff stays in the Apple forum. Not just because of the flames they start, but realistically they can get more help over there too, us haters wont hate on them in their own place.

It has been discussed over and over and over again. Threads about the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad can and will stay in GG&P (or whatever we call it) unless for some reason it needs to be moved to All Things Apple. To segregate the threads is no good, because then why not isolate all the Android threads, or the RIM threads, or the <insert maker here> threads. And if we are putting all the iPhone threads in All Things Apple, should we make an All Things HTC?

It is easiest to just have them stay here.

If it's about these devices as mobile devices, or comparison of them against non-Apple mobile devices, having them here makes sense. If it's part of how to sync your iPad to iMac, or whatever, then that seems to be an ATA topic.

Just would like to point out that if you have an Android device you'd like to sync with a Mac, it should go in ATA also, or if it's with a Windows PC then in S4W and for Linux in *nix Software. It's not Apple device exclusive, just want to make sure you meant that. :ninja:

Apple has mobile devices and they belong here.

Tablets, Phones, and Gadgets

More or less covers every area, and in a few years it won't be necessary to differentiate between smart and dumb phones because they're all going to be smart; much like how no one really asks if you have a cordless phone anymore.

Mobile computing almost seems to imply notebooks as well, though maybe I'm just old enough that my brain is full of outdated notions.

Edit: Also, rule of three
