this is probably old news to some, but it surprised me. Ultra is offering the new Flex Cables for the first gen Ultra X-Connect

link Without question these are the best molex cables period. For $20 this is a great upgrade for anyone who has an X-Connect.

Tigerdirect is a part owner, but Newegg doesnt think that the products are up to their quality standards. Also the cables should be free.

Why should the cables be free?

Considering the the enwer cables came out with a newer model.

I think Ultra has every right to charge for those cables.

Of course unless your dirt poor and looking for a freebee then I guess you might expect to get something for free!!

exactly! Ultra is being NICE by offering the new cables for an old psu. if it was any other company they'd make you pony up for the whole new PSU (more money, greedy)

as for Newegg not selling Ultra because it's not up to their "standards" BAH! Newegg sells plenty of low quality stuff. Who knows why they don't sell them? All I know is ZZF got my business today for an Ultra X-Finity PSU, their loss.

I know most of the time ZZF has everything I want which keeps me fromn having to place an order with 2 different companies!!
ZZF is a good company!!

haha, damn not sure if it was the Assassin model, but I put a Powmax in a PC I was fixing. they didn't want to spend money, and I thought the kid would like the LED light. It had the loudest fan I've ever heard. I felt bad dropping that PC off.

lol the label on that assassin says "art of silence" and I think I know why too - it blows which then shuts the computer down making it dead silent

yea, i put one in my buddies computer once...

this was before I paid attention to power supplies. I always thought that 500W is 500W. Well, thankfully, it didn't take any hardware with it, just the PSU blew.

Heh, sorry for going off topic. ;)
