My dad bought a 55 gallon fish tank and has started buying fish. Are there any good online resources that talk about good fish to put in the tank? And what are some good fish to get that enteract "nicely" with each other...

Salmon and rainbow trout are great together. Especially with a nice lemon butter sauce.:)

Neffing at its finest... ;)

Some of those fish that are in the tank now seem like they are on crack.

www.thatfishplace.com <--resource to books and supplies

get some books on it. btw, is this a warm water or a cold water? you seirously need to get a book on this. i remember one book that stated their temperament, but i forgot what it was called.

ask the guy at the store if they are agressive or not. you dont' want agressive fish cuz they will mess things up

tetras are nice, loaches, barbs, algea eaters, etc (tetras are VERY popular, beautiful, and cheap)

good luck

Well I'm not sure. This is my dad's "project." He did say the ladies at the pet store told him to keep the water around 80 degrees.

Try getting swordtails, guppies, and neons. They're neat fish and when I had a tank, all interacted nicely. :)

Nice thing to start off with is fancy goldfish. Hardly (if any) temperature/water maintenance.

55 is big. You can put a ton of fancy tailed guppies, swordtails, mollies, and other live bearing tropicals.

It so hard to say what you should start with. Having a 55 gallon, you can start almost anywhere, from the aforementioned fisn to Arrowanas, Discus, Oscars...I can't even start.

Salt water used to have the rep of being to hard to maintain. This has gone by the wayside with new techniques and technology. Saltwater is still expensive. Unless you want to start with a few damsels.

To give you specific links? Nyahh. Type 'aquarium' at any search engine.
